1) San Jose Temple Audio, Video and Security Monitoring System

We were honored to be of service to the San Jose Temple in the design and integration of theirAudio Video and Security Monitoring system. The building of the San Jose Sikh Temple at the present site was started in 1999 and the second phase was completed in April 2011.Presently it is the largest Sikh Temple outside of India.

Omnitech Solutions was asked to develop and install a state of the art Audio, Video and Security Monitoring System. The Audio system would consist of 48 microphone inputs and over 100 speakers placed at strategic location across the multiple building. Mr. Onkar Sangha of Omnitech Solutions is the chief architect of the system.

Scope of Project:

Support up to 48 microphones and over 100 speakers spanning multiple buildings Acoustically survey the main hall to determine echo and structural interference obstacles Determine the best possible positions of the speakers to provide echo and distortion free sound at uniform sound levels across the whole hall without dead spots Custom design and build easy to use control panels so that untrained personal could easily use them Audio system to cover multiple locations and multiple input and output feeds to facilitate multiple locations Eliminate the need to have outside video recording company services by providing a high quality video recording services for weddings with inbuilt 8 high end Video cameras. High luminosity video projection system for the main hall. Video Security system with over 90 cameras and with over 45 days of continuous recording storage and automatic backup capability Multiple audio and video streaming channels Remote access for control servers Redundant backup servers Web Hosting

Audio System :
The scope of this project was to acoustically survey the buildings and especially the main prayer hall to determine the possible echo and structural interference that would adversely affect the quality of sound heard by the congregation. The audio system incorporates high end audio equipment and custom designed control systems to deliver high quality and highly available audio system that is user friendly and delivers concert quality sound system.

This audio system is designed to support 48 microphones and over 100 speakers which are mounted at strategic locations to provide crystal clear audio coverage for all of the buildings and hallways without echo and distortion. For the ease of the operators the sound level for the main hall has been preset for 3 levels of congregation size: less than 500, between 500 and 3000 and over 3000 people.

Four audio mixers,15 audio power amplifiers and the custom designed audio source selector form the basis for this system. The system also supports multiple audio recording and playback devices and servers.

A simplified system diagram and the pictures of the actual installation of the audio system are shown below.

Wall / Platform Mountable Microphone Panel :
This is a custom designed panel that can be mounted on a wall or on a platform. It is custom designed to connect from a single microphone to as many as 48 microphones. The panel provides impedance matching for various types of microphones.

Audio Source Selector :
The Audio Source Selector is a custom designed unit providing the capability to switch the input audio signals. The Audio Source Selector has the following features:

Support up to 48 microphones and over 100 speakers spanning multiple buildings Custom designed for 8 to 24 Stereo RCA audio inputs Two volume controlled output Two uncontrolled volume outputs Supports Web Based Remote control for Channel selection and volume control Interface for custom designed Wall mountable remote control panel

Wall Mountable Audio Control Panel :
Custom designed wall mountable Audio control panel provides volume control as well as audio source selection. This panel connects to the Audio Source Selector. Volume level preselects for less than 500, between 500 and 3000, and greater than 3000 audience size.

Web Based Remote Control :
The Web Based Remote Control unit provide the capabilities to control up to 48 inputs and outputs. Units can be stacked to double the input / output controls. The remote control connects to a computer server via 10/100 BaseT Ethernet connection. A web based application provides control for the Volume / Source Selection and IO controls.

Power Distribution Unit :
The Power Distribution Unit (PDU)provides a means to control the power going to each of the devices. The PDU can support up to eight individual power bars, each of which can be turned ON and OFF via a manual switch or via web based remote control.

Audio Mixer :
We can integrate any commercially available audio mixer into the audio system design.

Audio Amps :
We can integrate any commercially available audio amplifier into the audio system design.

Speakers :
We can integrate all commercially available speaker into the audio system design.

Video System :
The video system at the San Jose Temple is designed to provide the following capabilities

8 High quality remote controlled full HD resolution cameras with power zoom and TPZ controls are mounted at strategic locations to record kirtans, presentations and weddings. All 8 camera feeds are recorded in full HD on the media servers Two high lumens projectors are used to display the camera feeds and multimedia playback on two 18ft by 15ft screens in the main hall Three additional LCD monitors are mounted at other locations to provide viewing capabilities With the use of the in house cameras, outside cameras are not required in the main hall and thus providing interference free venue for weddings and other gatherings. Eliminating tangled wires and obstructions caused by outside camera crews. Three channels of video streaming are available to be broadcast over the internet. These video streams are used to broadcast live events and weddings to private audiences as well as general public. Live video streaming is often used to broadcast weddings to relatives in India in real time

Security System :
The security system at the San Jose Temple consist of over 92 security camera powered by POE. Each video feed is recorded continuously on the security server and kept for up to 45 days.
